Yard Sale Finds 09.04.10

September 4, 2010

Helloo lovelies! Today my thrifty seeking pals Steve & Ashley were out of town so I took my dear friend Catie out on the road for a tutorial on how to score some goodies! I taught her my favorite trick of bringing small bills and setting the price yourself with money in had. She happily walked away with several items all while spending less than $10 for the whole day. I’m proud of my students, my teaching skills and of todays finds!

Cooler, $.25 cents

This little cooler was practically free and will serve up some icy beverages for many summers to come. Cool!

Rosemary, FREE

Speaking of free! Arent neighbors grand! I drove by a bin filled with fresh cut rosemary branches with a sign that said free on my way home from todays sales! So fragrant and lovely. I think breakfast tomorrow will consist of rosemary potatoes. Woohhoo.

Stapler, $.50 cents

Travis has a tendency of stealing my one and only stapler in the house. He also has a tendency of breaking them. This industrial swingline should help curb that habit!

Shelf, $15

Another find for my dear boy. I thought this shelf was pretty cool and modern looking, so I sent him a photo. Turns out u-fab could use a display for pillows, and this is just the right size and price.

And now its time for the Yard Sale Find Of The Week!!
Speakers, $2

Check out my instant cheapo ipod dock! Perfect for use in my office’s gym. No more sweaty phone strapped into my bra strap. No more!

And now its time for the Craigslist Find Of The Week!!
Food Processor, $20

I’m just so tickled to share my joy of my brand new (err.. 20 years young) food processor! I posted a few weeks ago about my search, and how I purchased one, that didn’t work and my utter disappointment. Well I found this baby on craigslist (with no photo) and a listing that said 8 cup cuisinart food processor, used only once! I knew despite me buying a cuisinart dud that they do make the best food processors around, and that this would be a mega deal at $80 off retail. When I arrived I was shocked to see the item was nearly older than I was! But you know what, I didn’t let that detour me because it still works like brand new and it probably was only used once, she even still had the styrofoam. Older electronics last forever and this one happens to have a 30 year warranty on the motor, meaning it’s still technically under warranty. HAH! But really, I made home made salsa, guacamole, and coleslaw this week, all in under 10 minutes. I’m in love.
